Team Driver / Assistant

Purpose: Drive program teams to designated sites using the program vehicles, provide maintenance for program vehicles, and assist with program needs.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Primary
    • Drive team to and from work/service sites;
    • Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner by observing all driving policies of PIDF;
  • Secondary
    • Cleaning: Wash, polish, vacuum, clean windows, etc.;
    • Maintenance: Complete regularly scheduled vehicle checks (fluids, wear and tear, valid stickers and documentation for safety and registration, etc.);
    • Repairs and Improvements: Schedule appointments for vehicle repairs and improvements (such as decals, auto alarms, safety cameras, etc.), shuttle vehicles to and from service appointments;
    • Forms: Complete and submit all forms related to our vehicles (vehicle accidents, regular maintenance, signing vehicles in and out, etc.);
  • Tertiary
    • Help teams set up and break down site;
    • Help teams pack up/bag and distribute lunches to participants as needed;
    • Run errands for supervisors;
    • Assist the team with cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, loading, and unloading vehicles as needed;
    • Assist with preparing program materials and equipment as assigned;
    • Assist leadership team with program responsibilities and reporting;
  • Complete and submit assignments in a timely and acceptable manner;
  • Establish, preserve, and cultivate positive, professional relationships with program participants, colleagues, and program partners with respect and care;
  • Participate in team discussions regarding issues and brainstorm solutions.

Other Duties: 

Other duties as assigned include, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentations such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

 

Work Hours:

  • 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or as otherwise determined by management; 
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance; 
  • Some events and professional development may occur during nights or weekends.
  • Designated program sites near or where participants reside, event sites, meeting and professional development sites;
  • Office setting;
  • Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites and/or office.

Equipment Use: 

May include use of: vehicles (company, personal), electronics, and tools and equipment (used for site, prepping, office, facility, vehicle maintenance).

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Preference:
    1. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, professional customer service, and scheduling appointments for vehicle repairs;
    2. Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and values.

Experience

  • Two (2) years basic experience with driving vehicles on O‘ahu (preferably Leeward side);
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Meetings, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and email, internet researching, and virtual meeting and/or teaching platforms;
  • Preference:
    1. Experience driving professionally;
    2. Experience driving larger passenger vehicles similar to KP’s program vehicles;
    3. Experience with vehicle maintenance and scheduling appointments;
    4. Experience working with homeless/at-risk families of KP’s target population.

Driving

  • Valid driver’s license;
  • A safe and responsible driving record.
