Upper School Part-Time Costume Shop Manager (60%)

Stone Ridge is seeking a Part-Time (60%) Upper School Costume Shop Manager to begin work in August 2026. 

 

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. The Part-Time Upper School Costume Teacher is responsible for: 

  • supporting the Upper School drama department by assisting with costuming for 4 (2 US and 2 MS) productions, two in the spring and two in the fall. 
  • teaching a section of Costuming in the Technical Theater course in the Upper School
  • serve as an advisor and assist students in overseeing student participation on Social Action days. 
  • collaborate with the Director of Arts and other members of the arts department in selecting, managing and supporting 4 productions a year. 
  • collaborate with Upper School teachers in providing instruction to Upper School students in Costuming section. 
  • work with the Marketing and Communications department to advertise for drama productions. 
  • communicate with parents on any costuming questions

 

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • a bachelor’s degree 
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Directing, managing and understanding the demands of a school-based drama production
  • Ability to inhabit a role that can be demanding and time sensitive and can requirement management of a disparate array of tasks across multiple disciplines and among a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to relate well to students
