Global Medical Communications Summer Intern

Program Experience 

CSL is a leading global biotechnology company whose values guide our work so that we can deliver on our promise to save lives and protect the health of people around the world.  The Global Medical Communications (GMC) internship program is a hands-on experience in supporting the delivery of clinically relevant data to internal and external stakeholders. The 10- to 12-week experience will help students develop core competencies in scientific communications and learning about the pharmaceutical industry by working cross-functionally within Global Medical Affairs and interacting with broader functions within the organization. 

Main Responsibilities

In this role, under the guidance of the GMC product leads, you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of scientific communication materials (e.g., slide decks, infographics, summaries, etc) and resources in a meaningful, accurate, fair-balanced, and consistent manner for assigned products and indications.  You will also support the delivery of various global communication to local medical teams in other countries to facilitate timely communication of business-critical information.  

  • Support the implementation of GMC tactical plans by contributing to the creation, or updating, of scientific communication materials such as scientific core medical deck(s), scientific communication platforms, lexicon, FAQ and other above-market medical resources
  • Assist, where appropriate, in the medical/scientific review of materials
  • Contribute to the advancement of CSL’s digital innovation such as implementation/update of web-based resources, AI, etc.
  • Gain knowledge in the appropriate utilization of platforms within GMA (e.g., Veeva MedComms, Veeva PromoMats, Microsoft Teams, internal medical website CORE, etc)Gain hands‑on exposure to the pharmaceutical industry, learning how medical and commercial partners collaborate within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, while contributing to real‑world projects that support Global Medical Communications.
  • Develop in‑demand professional skills by working on cross‑functional, matrixed teams, gaining experience in collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking, with opportunities for mentorship, networking, and insight into diverse career paths within the pharmaceutical industry.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  1. Educational Background: Life sciences or a medical discipline (including a Healthcare Communications minor). PharmD students seeking industry experience are also encouraged to apply.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat

  • Onsite Work Policy
    • This role will begin with five days per week onsite at our King of Prussia (PA) office and will transition to a hybrid schedule once approved by the manager.
    • This position does not offer relocation assistance. Please apply only if you are able to secure your own housing in King of Prussia, PA, for the summer. This opportunity is especially well-suited for students who will be returning to the Philadelphia area for the summer.
