ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

This position is responsible for:

Leading children's activities at a day camp including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; preparing and serving children lunch and snacks; assisting in leading field trips; maintaining the cleanliness of the camp area.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner

Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities.

Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children’s safety in utilizing the same.

Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline techniques.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Duties are performed a Camp and Classroom setting. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting ad carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work requires working indoors and outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

What We Are Looking For In You:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers’ License
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or educational setting
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
