Foster Care Case Manager
Overview
The Foster Care Case Manager plays a crucial role in supporting children and families involved in the foster care system. This position involves working closely with children, foster parents, and various stakeholders to ensure the well-being and development of children placed in foster care.

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine needs and develop individualized service plans.
- Monitor the progress of children in foster care, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and educational needs are being met.
- Facilitate communication between foster parents, biological families, and other service providers to promote collaboration and support.
- Provide guidance and support to foster families, offering resources and training as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of case files, including progress notes and service plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case updates and strategies for improvement.
- Advocate for the rights and best interests of children within the foster care system.
- Uphold the organization’s mission and values in all interactions with children, families, and community partners.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Proven experience with children in various settings, including childcare or educational environments.
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and practices, including familiarity with Child Protective Services.
- Strong background in social work principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to build rapport with children and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Alignment with and respect for the organization’s faith-based mission and values.
