Real Estate Investment & Management Intern

Our Company:

We are a fast growing, private equity-backed real estate investment and management company focused on multi-family housing in state university communities. Our property portfolio is presently in Richmond, VA and Greensboro, NC, and we hope to add new geographies via acquisition in the coming year.

Primary Responsibilities:

Our intern’s primary responsibilities will focus on the property management aspects of our business in Greensboro, NC, while also learning about other areas of our company and about commercial real estate more generally. Additional work areas may include acquisition analysis, asset management, financial analysis, and investment management, among others. 

Day-to-day activities will include the following:

  • Leasing and marketing for the Greensboro Portfolio (including touring and communicating with prospective residents during the leasing season which typically runs from May – August)
  • Providing consistent and professional communication with residents and prospects
  • Assisting with capital expenditure projects
  • Overseeing vendors and vendor management
  • Helping to manage property income/expenses, which contributes to maximizing NOI
  • Other projects will vary widely

Location & Timing

We expect this role to start in the Spring of 2026 and be full time through the beginning of August 2026. Exact start and end dates are somewhat negotiable. This position requires the applicant to be on-site in Greensboro, NC, most days of the week. The frequency of on-site work and necessary office work depends on the level of project work at each property and the time of year given the seasonality in our business. We have an office in downtown Greensboro, which will serve as the internship home base.

Qualifications:

Although real estate and property management experience/skills are valuable, they are not essential. Organizational, interpersonal, and general business education and skills are most important. This position is ideal for someone who knows and enjoys commercial real estate but is an equally ideal position for someone interested in building a career in the commercial real estate investment and management sectors.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of collegiate experience (i.e., will at least be entering their second year in the fall semester of 2026), but candidates with less or more experience will also be considered.

Compensation:

Candidates will be compensated with an hourly wage of $20 paid twice a month on the 15th and the last business day of each month.
