Learning Support Staff

Summer 2026 | Seasonal/Contract Position

Reports to: Camp Manager

Position Overview

Learning Support Staff, also known as Adventure Guides, support teaching artists and instructors in classrooms, studios, and hands-on learning environments during arts education programs and summer camps. Adventure Guides help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging experience for students by assisting with instruction, leading games and activities, supporting classroom management, and helping students transition throughout the day.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people, thrive in collaborative environments, and have a passion for the arts, education, and youth development.

Schedule & Duration

Camp weeks run June 1 - August 7, 2026

No camp the week of June 29 - July 3

Learning support staff may work full-time or part-time, depending on assignment

Assignments may include camps at CCT Naghten and/or satellite camp locations

Key Responsibilities

Assist instructors with activities and direct instruction during classes

Provide consistent support for students throughout the camp or program day

Utilize strong, confidence classroom management strategies

Support students in small groups and one-on-one as needed

Assist with daily check-in and pick-up procedures

Take attendance and help track student participation

Assist with behavior support using organization-approved practices

Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues

Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and studio spaces

Support the Camp Coordinator and Camp Manager with daily operations as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrated experience teaching or facilitating arts instruction for children or teens

Comfort working with multiple age groups

Strong verbal and written commnunication skills

Creative, flexible, and collaborative mindset

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet

Ability to remain calm, positive, and supportive in fast-paced environments

Enthusiasm for the arts and youth learning

CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to camp)

Ability to pass a background check

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience

This is a seasonal support position with primarily weekday daytime hours during camp weeks and limited pre-/post- camp seasonal support hour as needed
