Electrical Engineer (full time and internship)
Electrical engineering is at the core of how naval systems sense, communicate, and operate. At NSWC Dahlgren Division, electrical engineers design, test, and sustain the power, control, and signal pathways that keep combat systems and shipboard technologies running in demanding environments — directly supporting fleet readiness.
This is hands-on engineering with real-world impact.
What You’ll Work On
- As an Electrical Engineer at NSWC Dahlgren, you may support projects involving:
- Power distribution, control systems, and embedded electronics
- Sensors, signal processing, and hardware/software integration
- Testing, troubleshooting, and validation of systems in lab and field environments
- Supporting systems that operate in high-reliability, mission-critical conditions
- Assignments vary by department and project, giving you exposure to different technical challenges and teams.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for engineers who are curious, motivated, and ready to apply what they’ve learned beyond the classroom.
You should apply if you are:
- Pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Interested in hands-on engineering, testing, and system integration
- Comfortable working in team environments and learning new technical skills
- Interested in applying your education to real naval and defense systems
- Experience with areas like embedded systems, electronics, controls, or hardware testing is a plus — but not required.
