Summer 2026 | Seasonal Position
Reports to: Director of Education, Camp Manager
Position Overview
The Summer Office Assistant provides essential administrative and front-line support for Columbus Children’s Theatre’s summer camp programs. This role supports the Camp Manager, Camp Coordinators, and Education Coordinator by maintaining organized systems, assisting with communication, and ensuring staff and families have the information and materials they need.
The Summer Office Assistant is often the first point of contact for families and plays a key role in keeping camp operations running efficiently.
Schedule & Duration
Camp weeks run June 1 - August 7, 2026
No camp the week of June 29 - July 3
Paid pre-camp preparation and post-camp wrap-up hours
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Assist with camper records, attendance logs, data entry, and document management
Maintain organized digital and physical camp files
Support supply tracking, copies, signage, and daily materials
Family Communication
Serve as a first point of contact for general parent and guardian inquiries
Route questions and concerns to the appropriate camp leadership role
Support daily check-in/check-out communication as needed
Operational Support
Assist with scheduling support, room readiness, and logistics
Prepare materials for staff training, performances, and special events
Support Camp Coordinators and Education Coordinator with site-specific needs
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfort working in an administrative, front-desk, or customer-facing role
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage details in a busy environment
Friendly, professional demeanor when working with families and staff
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to camp)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to pass a background check
Preferred:
Experience in an office, administrative, or customer service position
Familiarity with youth programs, camps, or nonprofit organizations
Interest in arts education or theatre
Compensation
Commensurate with experience
This is a seasonal support position with primarily weekday daytime hours during camp weeks and limited pre-/post-camp a seasonal support hour as needed
