High School Assistant Principal/Activities Director
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field.
• Valid Kansas Building Leader Licensure.
• Minimum of three years of teaching and/or administrative experience.
• Experience in school administration, activities or sports leadership/management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations, including state and national policies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Proficiency in technology for scheduling, communication, and reporting.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for long periods during activities or athletic events
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Work Environment
• School office, classrooms, and activity or athletic facilities
• Frequent evening and weekend work
Essential Functions
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the high school activities program, including program
organization, budgeting, and facility management
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate sponsors and directors of student organizations
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and national regulations and policies which apply to
each program
• Develop and implement student eligibility standards and academic support programs
• Coordinate activity schedules, transportation, and event logistics
• Monitor student behavior, discipline, and overall school climate
• Assist in developing and implementing school policies and procedures
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and staff to support student success
• Participate in school leadership meetings, professional development, and community
engagement
• Address and resolve conflicts related to activities and school administration
General Responsibilities
• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes academic and activity excellence
• Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and community regarding academics, activities, and student development
• Ensure proper maintenance and safety of activity facilities and equipment
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families regarding school policies, expectations, and events
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning and crisis management
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or district administration
