Entry-Level Structural Engineer (0-3 years’ experience)

Entry-Level Structural Engineer (0-3 years’ experience)

Are you passionate about architecture, history, and engineering? Do you want your work to have a lasting impact - restoring the past and shaping the future? Join our growing structural engineering firm that blends technical excellence with design sensitivity.

Beane Engineering is a highly collaborative boutique structural engineering practice based in Milwaukee, specializing in the rehabilitation of existing structures and architecturally ambitious new construction. From national historic landmarks to hidden architectural gems, we stabilize, restore and celebrate existing structures with a deep respect for their history. We also partner with visionary architects on challenging, one-of-a-kind new buildings that demand creative engineering solutions.

Our work spans the U.S., with a strong presence in the Midwest and East Coast. We’re known for our responsive approach, rigorous analysis, and ability to bridge the gap between design intent and structural reality.

In addition to preservation and new design, our work includes adaptive reuse, building renovations, and the rehabilitation of existing structures, requiring creative engineering strategies and a comprehensive understanding of older materials and construction methods.

We’re looking for motivated entry-level structural engineers (0–3 years experience) who are eager to grow their technical and creative skills in a dynamic environment.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work on a wide range of projects—historic buildings, adaptive reuse, renovations, and modern new construction
  • Gain hands-on experience with a variety of materials, structural systems, and detailing approaches
  • Participate in forensic engineering and field investigations, including structural assessments, condition surveys, and failure analysis
  • Travel and gain confidence on-site, sometimes in challenging conditions, to perform field documentation, investigations, and construction observations

This is an ideal position for someone who is:

  • Curious and detail-oriented
  • Excited to work on both historic and contemporary buildings
  • Interested in working closely with architects, preservationists, and contractors
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn by doing
  • Able and willing to travel as projects demand

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering or equivalent (minimum GPA 3.0). Master’s degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering preferred.
  • Passed the Fundamentals in Engineering Examination and preparing to become licensed, when eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Revit Structure.
  • Passion for architecture, preservation, adaptive reuse, or innovative design
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license

What We Offer

  • A supportive, mentorship-driven environment
  • Exposure to landmark projects and cutting-edge architecture
  • Opportunities to grow with a small, respected firm
  • Field experience that deepens your understanding of buildings and materials
  • Competitive salary and benefits
