Outreach and Administrative Assistant

The Critical Gender Studies Program is looking for an OUTREACH & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT to be a key member of the unit. This position provides an opportunity to develop professional administrative skills and gain valuable experience in an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT business environment.
OUTREACH & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT:
- Participate in and promote activities and events that promote the Critical Gender Studies (CGS) Program to the community and prospective students.
- Assist with the development and coordination of a culturally relevant outreach program to promote student recruitment to the program.
- Provide administrative assistance and support to the CGS Program.
- Update web content for CGS and maintain social media.
- Develop promotional materials (i.e., flyers) CGS activities and events and assist with promoting these events.
- Assist with planning and coordinating events, including purchasing supplies and catering orders.
- Assist with special projects.
Graphic design experience and familiarity with social media platforms and Google suite a plus.
Student may also be assigned special projects to complete independently, with minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and clear and concise communication skills with the ability to perform all duties in a professional manner.
- Candidate must also be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
- Candidate must be PC literate and well versed in standard office programs such as Word and Excel
- Candidate must be able to use Google Forms, Documents, and Spreadsheets and have familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
- Experience using Adobe programs, Photoshop or other editors such as Dreamweaver.
- Experience coordinating events, workshops, and social activities
- General office experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently
- Must be punctual, reliable, positive, energetic, and have good customer service skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to research, gather and organize information to produce concise reports using databases, excel and/or Google sheets.
- Ability to independently initiate and track routine projects to completion.
- Ability to commit to a weekly schedule
**Must pay UCSD Student Services fees each quarter working (must have paid WI’26 student services fees)**

10-12 hrs/week
Salary:
$18.00/hour
Preferred start date:
03/30/2026 (as soon as possible)
Location: Hybrid (combination of in-person at Social Sciences Building and remote work depending on assignment)
