Legal Practice Assistant

Provide administrative support and telephone coverage for our lawyers and office manager to ensure the smooth functioning of our legal and office operations.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned particularly as they relate to recruiting assistance, data entry and events. 

• Provides general administrative support for lawyers which may include drafting, editing, and formatting correspondence and legal documents.
• Organizes and maintains file systems, arranges meetings, coordinates conferences and travel plans, and handles billing and expense reimbursement.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication via telephone and in person with lawyers, clients, and other staff within the Firm.
• Maintains daily and advance calendars for lawyers.
• Safeguards the Firm's confidential information.
• Handles confidential matters as directed.
• Performs all other clerical tasks as required.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining Firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the Firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.
