Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in veterinary settings.  This role involves providing high-quality care to animals, assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and ensuring the overall well-being of our patients.  Join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to improving the lives of animals and their human counterparts through exceptional veterinary care. Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays
  • Monthly maintenance of veterinary equipment in the lab and surgery
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals, including monitoring vital signs and administering fluids
  • Conduct dental cleanings and / or assist with dental procedures
  • Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques
  • Educate pet owners and colleagues as needed on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general pet care
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic environment, adhering to aseptic techniques
  • Assist with kennel duties including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals

Requirements:

  • Previous veterinary technician experience is essential; kennel experience is a must
  • Veterinary technician license a plus
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices

  • Familiarity with veterinary laboratory procedures and equipment and their maintenance needed
  • Experience with placing IV catheters, intubation, and dental cleaning is highly desirable
  • Ability to handle various species of animals safely
  • Strong communication skills to effectively educate pet owners on care practices
  • A commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals in our facility
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support clinic operations.
