Risk Management Intern

At University Hospitals we have a Risk Internship position available for summer of 2026.

This intern experience will provide risk management experience in a healthcare.  The position requires collaboration with brokers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to manage underwriting, claims, and loss control processes. Additionally, the intern will assist in identifying and mitigating enterprise risks, and participate in a meetings to enhance insurance knowledge and skills.

Support administration of the UH Sponsored Physician Program including responding to requests and queries, CRME (Continuing Risk Management Education) compliance tracking and other documentation as required.

 Assist in the management of the System's commercial and captive insurance and reinsurance programs.

 Preparation and compilation of underwriting data, applications, submissions and presentations.

 Participate in strategy setting sessions with broker for insurance programs.

 Learn property claim and adjustment process.

 Help to set up loss control visits with facilities.
