HR Generalist

The Misericordia Human Resources team is looking to hire a HR Generalist. The HR Generalist will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks as part of the day-to-day operations of the department. The HR Generalist will coordinate and administer employment policies, procedures and programs in the functions of onboarding, leave administration, employment policies and procedures, performance, and reporting, federal hiring reports; and other related employment duties.  

 Please note this is an in-person opportunity located in Chicago, IL.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration or related field, required
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, strongly preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, preferred 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills- experience addressing employee concerns and conducting investigations
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and company policies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to pivot quickly, communicate clearly and effectively, while maintaining a high level or organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data analytic skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with specific knowledge of reporting software like Excel.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Knowledge of leave management, occupational health and safety and reporting of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs, LOAs and short-term disability including WC. 

Salary Range: $62,000-70,000
