Position Summary:

This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Impact Studio Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern for the Office of Provost and Executive Vice President at Oregon State University (OSU).

Our work blends creativity, research, and strategy to drive impactful solutions.The Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern will create high-quality, brand-aligned design assets and support video production for Impact Studio's projects and initiatives. This role works closely with team members to translate project goals into clear visuals, such as social media graphics, presentations, print collateral, and short-form videos. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with strong design fundamentals who can plan and deliver work reliably in a dynamic environment (balancing deadlines with class schedules), and who applies inclusive, accessible design practices

Position Duties:

 

• Create on-brand graphics for social media, web updates, newsletters, and presentations.

• Design print and event collateral (flyers, posters, signage, handouts) and support outreach activities as needed.

• Produce and edit short-form video content (e.g., 30-90 second clips, event recaps, project spotlights) for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

• Support basic content planning and execution: propose concepts, maintain simple production checklists, and meet agreed timelines.

• Collaborate with OSU staff, faculty, and students; incorporate feedback and iterate quickly.

• Organize and maintain shared templates and an asset library to improve team efficiency.

• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a timely manner.

• Apply principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across visual and video content (contrast, captions, readability, inclusive representation).

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

 

• High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

• Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

• Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

 

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the https://internationalservices.oregonstate.edu/ (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

 

Additional Required Qualifications:

 

• Currently enrolled at Oregon State University, pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital/Multimedia Communications, or related field.

• A portfolio or work samples demonstrating strong design fundamentals (typography, layout, composition) and attention to detail (class projects are acceptable).

• Working proficiency in at least one design tool: Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.

• Ability to create and export platform-appropriate assets (social sizes, basic print-ready PDFs, slide layouts).

• Basic video editing capability (cutting clips, sound leveling, simple titles, exporting for social).

• Basic understanding of photography and videography principles.

• Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.

• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, accessible content.

 

Preferred (Special) Qualifications:

 

• Strong video editing experience using tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or comparable software.

• Experience producing videos end-to-end (concept → shot list/storyboard → edit → captions → publish).

• Motion graphics experience (simple lower thirds, animated text, transitions).

• Experience creating accessible and inclusive digital content (including captioning workflows).

• Familiarity with OSU brand standards or working within established brand guidelines.

• Comfort supporting occasional in-person promotion and event coverage.

• Interest in design thinking or innovation processes.
