Position: Business Development and Data Analyst - IMMEDIATE HIRE
We are looking for a few exceptional, experienced candidates to join the elite team at Temple Allen Industries in Rockville, MD as Business Development and Data Analysts to help define and expand the market for our EMMA robotic systems. This role is intended for individuals with strong quantitative foundations and early experience in technology-focused market analysis or business development who are ready to translate data into strategy. They would also structure complex customer evaluations, and support decision making in a high-growth industrial automation environment.
You will operate at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution—identifying and quantifying market opportunities, standardizing and improving internal processes, and transforming multi-source datasets into clear dashboards and executive-level insights. You will build cost-benefit analysis models and time studies, recommend internal process improvements, tailor business cases and product specifications, develop pricing strategies and proposals, and support broader BD operations.
Requirements
The following items are typically required for an individual accepting the responsibilities of this position:
- Candidates should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree with an excellent academic record from a highly competitive university or college. Ideally, this degree will be in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science or Robotics.
- Experience (including internships) working with technology, market analysis, or business development (preferably in robotics or aerospace sectors).
- Strong data analysis skills with substantial command over Excel, as well as some knowledge of Python, SQL, or R.
- Experience designing or improving internal data workflows, reporting pipelines, or process automation to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Demonstrated system-level thinking, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across cost, implementation complexity, scalability, and long-term usability when proposing solutions.
- Ability to develop a sophisticated and potentially complex Cost-Benefit Analysis for customers.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Experience developing Excel Macros / VBA scripts to automate data processing, reporting, and consolidation across multiple workbooks.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau
- Ability to engage efficiently with clients on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
The following items are expected tasks an individual accepting this position will be undertaking and completing:
- Help identify and quantify market opportunities for an entirely new class of industrial automation tool.
- Standardize data pipelines from multiple sources to maintain high-quality datasets for internal and external analysis.
- Create intuitive data visualizations and dashboards that translate complex metrics into actionable insights for executive-level decision-making.
- Developing detailed product specifications and feature lists tailored to diverse client requirements and configurations.
- Draft quotes, proposals, and cost/benefit analyses. Develop a pricing strategy for each market.
- Create and maintain budgets for business development operations, including customer trips and attending trade shows
- Develop and help produce marketing materials for customers, tradeshows, publications, etc.
- Track TAI equipment in the field – purchased units, demo units, warranties, consumables, etc.
