Graduate Engagement Assistant

Position Summary

This position supports the planning, execution, and assessment of programs designed to enhance graduate student belonging, engagement, and professional development, while also supporting alumni engagement initiatives that strengthen lifelong connection to the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and execution of graduate student engagement programs and signature events
  • Support event logistics including space reservations, setup, food orders, signage, and on-site coordination and more
  • Manage and maintain accurate records in the alumni and student engagement CRM, including event participation, mentorship involvement, and outreach data
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and basic analysis related to student and alumni engagement, including attendance trends, participation metrics, and feedback surveys
  • Support assessment efforts by organizing engagement data and contributing to program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives

Alumni Engagement & Mentorship Support

  • Support alumni-student engagement initiatives including mentorship programs and networking events
  • Assist with outreach and communication with alumni volunteers, mentors, and speakers
  • Maintain accurate alumni engagement records and assist with CRM updates

Communications & Administrative Support

  • Draft and format professional communications including emails, event descriptions, and promotional content
  • Assist with data tracking, reporting, and assessment efforts related to student and alumni engagement
  • Provide general administrative and office support as needed

Learning Outcomes

Through this position, the Graduate Assistant will gain hands-on experience in graduate student programming, alumni relations, event planning, professional communication, and professional administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled graduate student in good academic standing
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite/ Communication tools/Designer tools (Canva and more)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in higher education administration, student affairs, & alumni relations
  • Experience supporting event planning, student organizations, or volunteer coordination
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, campus engagement platforms, or data tracking tools preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, student-centered environment
