Position Purpose:       

The Digital Navigator will serve as a critical resource for supporting individuals in accessing and effectively using digital mental health tools (e.g., apps) that are being tested in the Digital Innovation Lab. This role bridges the gap between technology and care by providing personalized guidance, troubleshooting, and education to ensure users can confidently engage with digital health solutions.

Job Description:

The student employee will be working with the Brain and Behavior Innovation Center (BBICen) Digital Innovation Lab team and will serve as Digital Navigator for projects utilizing digital mental health tools. Responsibilities are as follows: 

  • Assist participants/patients in setting up and navigating the digital mental health platform. 
  • Meet with participants/patients on a regular basis virtually or in person to promote engagement and review their mental health symptoms with support of the clinical team. 
  • Maintain participant records.
  • Generate participant reports. 
  • Provide one-on-one or group training sessions on app features and best practices. 
  • Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshoot common issues.
  • Collect feedback from users to identify barriers and improve platform usability.
  • Conduct qualitative interviews with participants/patients about their experiences. 
  • Document interactions and report trends to program leadership.
  • Work closely with clinical teams, researchers, and IT staff to ensure smooth integration of digital tools into care workflows.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a current student taking at least6 credit hours(undergraduate) or 3 credit hours (graduate)
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel 
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, flexible, organized, willing to learn, possess the ability to prioritize appropriately, and have a professional demeanor.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally via telephone and email.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comfortable meeting with participants/patients with or at risk for mental health conditions 
  • Comfortable learning new technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Detail-oriented 

Length of Employment:

10 hours per week through September 2026 with the potential to extend.

The Student Assistant commits to showing up for work diligently and punctually, honesty, performing assigned tasks, following directions, taking initiative, reliability, confidentiality, checking work for thoroughness and accuracy with attention to detail, and interest in learning new skills, especially mandatory computer skills.

 

 

Pay Range:

$20 per hour
