Virtual Paid 3L Law Student Internship
Job Title Virtual Paid 3L Law Student Internship – Civil Litigation (Human Trafficking & Sexual Assault Litigation)
Job Description The Haba Law Firm, a boutique civil law firm based in Central Florida, specializes in high-level civil litigation focused on human trafficking and sexual assault cases in both Florida and federal courts. We are seeking a motivated 3L law student for a virtual, paid internship from March 1 to June 1, 2026. This role offers hands-on experience in impactful litigation, working directly with our team of attorneys, victim advocate, and legal assistant. As a 100% virtual position, you'll collaborate remotely while gaining exposure to real-world case management in both state and federal courts.
In this internship, you'll assist with critical tasks in ongoing cases, including:
- Reviewing federal case management orders and calendaring deadlines with reminders/warnings for key milestones (e.g., discovery cutoffs, expert disclosures, dispositive motions, and defaults).
- Researching and applying unique local rules for specific courts or judges to ensure compliance.
- Setting and coordinating hearings, depositions, or other proceedings.
- Drafting basic legal documents, such as notices of hearing, deposition notices, and other routine filings, using firm templates.
- Drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and discovery responses.
- General administrative support related to case progression.
We are happy to provide training and mentorship, but the ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of these processes from law school coursework, clinics, or prior experience. This internship is paid at Florida minimum wage (approximately $15/hour, subject to current rates) and is part-time (15-20 hours/week, flexible around your schedule).
This internship provides a unique opportunity to develop essential practical skills in civil litigation, including advanced case management, procedural compliance across federal and state courts, drafting court filings, and discovery practice—all within the impactful and specialized field of civil actions involving human trafficking and sexual assault. Interns will gain direct exposure to complex trauma-informed advocacy on behalf of survivors.
Required Qualifications
- Current 3L law student at an ABA-accredited law school, on track to graduate in 2026 or later.

- Exceptionally strong legal research and writing skills.
- Experience with Westlaw or Lexis and Microsoft products.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual environment while communicating effectively via email, Zoom, and shared platforms.
- Interest in civil rights, human trafficking, or sexual assault litigation is a plus.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or U.S. work authorization.
