Quality Improvement Coordinator

ASTRO, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, is looking for a smart and self-motivated early career professional to join the Quality Improvement team. Reporting to the Director of Quality Improvement (QI), this position will be primarily responsible for coordinating aspects of the QI Department functions with an emphasis on ASTRO’s newer initiatives e.g., functional radiation medicine, artificial intelligence, radiopharmaceutical therapy, that fall within the purview of the QI Department. Related tasks include providing administrative support for ASTRO’s authorized user training site participation, organizing Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Roundtable logistics and supporting initiatives that evolve from these meetings. Additionally, this position will support other projects associated with the quality department on an ad hoc basis.
NOTE: ASTRO offers a hybrid work environment. The position is based in Arlington, VA at ASTRO’s headquarters and eligible for immediate telework up to 3x/week after an initial training period.
Major responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating key stakeholders involved in ASTRO’s Training Centers including ASTRO staff, outside entities and radiation oncology team members.
- Supporting ASTRO members who are interested in becoming an Authorized User by providing excellent customer service and enrolling them on the appropriate training course.
- Assisting with scheduling committee meetings, member discussions and other related calls, assembling call materials and drafting call minutes, as needed.
- Working with internal partners to facilitate effective marketing and communication content.
- Updating quality-related web content and monitoring quality related metrics. This includes creating process and application documents for posting on ASTRO’s website and supporting quality initiatives on ASTRO’s online community platform.
- Supporting the Quality Improvement Department and related workgroups in developing resources for members.
- Facilitating public comment, as needed, for quality measures, formal papers, and other documents.
- Assisting with preparing materials for publication of quality related formal papers.
- Coordinating Board items for quality related topics.
Qualified Candidates will have:
Education/Experience
- College degree or equivalent work experience; degree in a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of work experience, in an association environment preferred.
- Previous experience working in an association management organization or nonprofit organization a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure and on multiple projects.
- Must have a professional demeanor; be self-directed and able to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work independently, and as a team member.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
