Position Description:
The Stewardship Associate is a full-time (40 hrs/wk), non-exempt employee of the Kent Land Trust. The Stewardship Associate is responsible for stewardship and management of protected lands and easements for the Kent Land Trust (3 days/wk) and Warren Land Trust (2 days/wk), additionally providing support to each land trust in connection with public programs and new land protection projects. While occasional work may be performed remotely, the vast majority of work will require presence in either Kent or Warren at the land trusts’ offices or in the field. Salary $50,000 per year.


General Responsibilities:
The Stewardship Associate’s responsibilities include all aspects of conservation land and easement management, including monitoring land trust conservation properties and managing and maintaining nature preserves, public trails, and natural habitats. Do You Have What We’re Looking For?
Competitive candidates will have a bachelor’s level degree or professional coursework in environmental science, excellent writing and organizational skills, proficiency in using GIS in the field, and basic mapping capabilities. Experience with Landscape conservation software is a plus.  Candidates should be able to use trail maintenance tools, including weed whips, power mower, and chainsaws. A valid driver's License and access to a motor vehicle is required. Work may be outside in all weather conditions. Some weekend and weeknight hours are required.
