Undergraduate Student Research Lab Assistant

Mandatory: Must be an Oakland University Undergraduate Sciences Student.

Duties and Training: Acquire OU compliance training in human subjects and animal research in addition to Lab Safety training. Assist the supervisor in research projects in laboratory spaces.  Learn fundamental basic lab skills, including biochemical solution preparation, general lab skills, and the use of general lab equipment.  Assist in various procedures such as retinal imaging (rodents) and ERG testing, RNA extraction, cDNA preparation, real-time PCR analysis of gene expression, and fluorescent microscopy analysis of retina.
