Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Professional Engineer to join our team. In this full-time salaried position, you will be responsible for designing structures, foundations, overhead wires, and site grading plans for electrical substations and transmission lines. You will ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes and standards while collaborating with customer representatives and Project Management Teams to meet project specifications and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Interpret drawings for transmission, substation structures and foundations per customer specifications and design codes.
- Review internal drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Utilize PLS-Pole software for modeling and analysis of structures.
- Problem-solve issues related to design, construction, and compliance.
- Create and verify material list descriptions for transmission lines.
- Address technical questions from construction managers, field staff, and customers.
- Travel periodically to different company locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the Electrical Substation and Transmission Lines Industry is preferred.
- PE License preferred, but at a minimum, an EIT studying for the PE is required.
- Knowledge of PLS, RISA 3D, Mathcad, or other structural software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other relevant drafting software.
- Some experience in steel and concrete structural design.
- Familiarity with industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
