Preschool Lead Teacher
Job description:
A Mini Affair is a play-based early childhood enrichment center offering preschool, play, music, and art classes for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. We are seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher for ages 2.5 -5 years of age, who is confident leading a classroom, enjoys working with young children, and is looking for a consistent teaching position.
This position is perfect for education majors or individuals pursuing a career in teaching. A teaching certificate is not required.
Required Schedule:
- Mondays: 8:45 AM – 12:45 PM
- Wednesdays: 8:45 AM – 12:45 PM
- Thursdays: 3:15 PM – 6:30 PM
- Fridays: 8:45 AM – 1:00 PM
- Possible additional hours available as needed
Responsibilities:
- Lead preschool classes with engaging, age-appropriate, play-based activities.
- Create a warm, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Supervise and collaborate with assistant teacher.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth.
- Communicate professionally and positively with parents and caregivers.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety.
Desk Responsibilities:
This position includes occasional desk work such as welcoming families, helping with check-ins, answering phones, and assisting with day-to-day tasks when classes are not in session.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children required.
- Must genuinely enjoy working with children and creating positive learning experiences.
- Reliable, energetic, and patient.
- Able to commit to the position for at least six months.
- Open to working occasional weekends for birthday parties and special events.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs and actively participate in classroom activities.
Pay & Training:
Training is paid at $15/hour, with an increase to $17/hour upon completion of training and transition into the Lead Teacher role.
