Marketing Intern (Unpaid)

Hey creatives! Are you looking to build your portfolio, stretch your creative muscles and make a real impact? The Show Me Foundation is looking for a Content & Social Media Creative to help us shine across our Marketing Channels.  

The Show Me Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that does something different: we provide rent and utility assistance to families in crisis while raising funds through joyful cultural celebrations, not guilt or pity. We believe asking for help is courage, not failure, and that community support should feel like love, not charity.

Founded in 2009, we've learned that people don't just need their rent paid, they need to remember they're worthy of joy, even in hard times.

What You'll Do:

PRIMARY FOCUS - Email Marketing (70% of role):

  • Design and write monthly donor newsletters that inspire action and celebrate impact
  • Create email campaigns for fundraising, events and community updates
  • Add compelling content to existing email templates in Mailchimp/
  • Segment audiences and personalize messaging for different donor groups
  • Track open rates, click-through rates, and refine strategy based on performance
  • Develop email sequences for new donors, event attendees, and community members

SECONDARY - Social Media Management (30% of role):

  • Repurpose email content into social posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok(2-3 posts/week)
  • Create simple graphics in Canva to support email and social campaigns
  • Schedule content and maintain a consistent posting calendar

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate
  • MUST-HAVE: Strong writing and copywriting skills (we need compelling email content!)
  • MUST-HAVE: Experience with or willingness to learn email marketing platforms (Specifically Mailchimp)
  • MUST-HAVE: Basic graphic design skills in Canva (for social graphics)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Ability to commit 10-12 hours/week through at least September 2026
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines independently

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Helpful):

  • Experience with email segmentation and A/B testing
  • Light video editing (for occasional social content)
