Summer 2026 Kelly Alisha Tobin Internship
Each summer, the Kent Land Trust in Kent, Connecticut, offers a paid college internship honoring Kelly Alisha Tobin. This conservation-focused program fosters personal and professional growth through hands-on experiences not typically available in an academic setting. The Summer 2026 Kelly Alisha Tobin Internship will run for 8-10 weeks, 25 hours per week, from approximately mid-May through early August. Click here to learn more and apply. We encourage applicants to design their own project that they will do in conjunction with the Kent Land Trust staff. The ideal candidate would have a project in mind or be open to brainstorming a project that they would carry out through the internship.
Some examples of projects done in the past are:
In the past few years, interns conducted research on birds, insects, native plants, planned and hosted public programs and volunteer workdays, created outreach materials, and attended regional conservation gatherings, including with other interns working in the area. They attended a board meeting, learned about nonprofit governance, and gained insight into the legal aspects of land
protection.
