Podcast Technical Producer
Dream Three is a production company founded by an award-winning filmmaker and a Broadway actor. We create high-impact, mainstream stories that awaken consciousness and drive cultural change. Our projects span mediums and genres to include scripted and unscripted, podcasts and music, theater and live events, publishing, and immersive experiences. We are an elite team: focused, high-trust, and relentlessly committed to mastery — not a 9-to-5 comfort zone. If you thrive in environments with radical candor, clear ownership, and big creative swings, you’ll feel at home here.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Dream Three multi-platform story studio creating content across film, TV, theater, audio, publishing, and immersive media. Our podcast division produces shows that expand the conversation—stories and voices that leave audiences more connected, aware, and alive.
We're looking for a Podcast Technical Producer to serve as the technical backbone for one of our flagship shows—working directly with a high-profile host at their home studio in Orlando, while coordinating closely with our New York production team. This isn’t a typical studio gig. You’ll be working in a talent’s personal space, which requires discretion, adaptability, and the interpersonal skills to make a busy professional feel supported—not managed. You’ll own everything technical: from mic placement and camera and lighting setup to file handoffs and live troubleshooting, you’re the person in charge of making sure the production is dialed in before we ever hit record.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
• Flawless, broadcast-quality audio and video that listeners feel (even if they can’t name why).
• The host feels supported and can focus entirely on the conversation, not the tech.
• Reliable, repeatable production workflows that make recording days calm and predictable.
• Seamless coordination with the New York team—clean handoffs, clear communication, and no surprises.
• Digital and technical hygiene across all hardware and software workflows.
WHO YOU ARE
• You’re technically sharp and relationally intelligent. You understand that working with high-profile talent in their homes requires discretion and professionalism.
• You think in signal flow and shot flow. You’re already checking sync, exposure, batteries, card space, and room sound before anyone says “roll.”
• You’re the person who sees the problem before anyone else does—and fixes it before it becomes one.
• You move fast, AND you’re obsessive about the details that separate “fine” from “exceptional.”
• You’re calm under pressure: a guest’s AirPods fail, the connection drops, the room is noisy—you still deliver.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Home Studio Setup & Operation: Prep and wrap the podcast home studio for each recording session. This includes configuring the video, audio, and lighting before recording.
• Audio & Video Quality Control: Monitor audio levels to avoid clipping, distortion, or background noise. Ensure clean, well-exposed footage is consistent across all episodes.
• Workflow & File Management: Manage recording media and ensure enough space and proper formatting. Upload raw files to Dropbox using established naming conventions. Hand off assets to the post-production team.
• Video Formatting & Color: Configure cameras with appropriate settings and log profiles. Manage recording formats, frame rates, and resolutions to set up post-production for success. Apply and manage LUTs as a part of a consistent color pipeline.
• Collaboration & Communication: Participate in weekly production meetings with the NY crew. Communicate technical status, flag issues early, and suggest improvements to setup or workflow as needed.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• 3+ years in podcast production, audio engineering, technical directing, or similar roles
• Hands-on familiarity with:
o Dynamic and condenser microphones, proper mic placement and technique
o Mic stands, shock mounts, audio interfaces, mixers, and/or recorders
o Studio and/or soft lighting setups
o Mirrorless/DSLR or cinema cameras and tripods
• Deep knowledge of recording fundamentals: microphones, signal flow, gain staging, acoustics, multitrack sessions, and troubleshooting.
• Fluency in remote recording workflows and common failure points.
• Strong organizational skills for managing gear, cables, and digital files.
BONUS POINTS
• Experience working on a podcast or talk-show style format is a plus.
• Live recording experience (audiences, events, conventions, panels).
• Experience building portable “remote kits” for talent and guests.
• Video/audio integration knowledge (sync, timecode basics, deliverables for YouTube or social).
• Ability to train others on recording best practices and technical workflows.
• Familiarity with multicam recording and sync workflows is an advantage.
TOOLS YOU’LL USE
• Planning & Collaboration: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Asana
• Tracking: Airtable, Excel
• File Sharing: Dropbox
