Process Engineer Intern

Process Engineer

The purpose of this job is to support the process engineering group at the site and report key metrics. This role will contribute via data acquisition and analysis, technical assistance and support, documentation generation, revision, and execution, as well as project support. Operational Excellence and Process Engineering tools will be taught and utilized in day-to-day activities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Process Engineering group on day-to-day improvement efforts, as well as project-related support and work
  • Analyzes the data generated by manufacturing to detect trends and proactively identify issues
  • Reports out on work completed, either via email or standardized forms used for project. Communicates with all members of the team to stay abreast of work being completed
  • Interacts with other departments to collect data and information, or to collaborate on solutions and action items
  • Assists in the tracking, trending, and improvement of production metrics, such as capacity and yield
  • Assists with maintaining up to date process documentation
  • Works with operators, supervisors, and Maintenance personnel (in addition to the Process Engineering group) to solve problems
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and policies on site
  • Participates in and assists with quality related investigations

Education/Experience

  • Junior or Senior in Bachelor’s of Science for Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Computer literacy to be able to learn and utilize electronic systems on site
  • Creation of reports to be distributed to both internal and external audiences for a variety of uses
  • Ability to write both technically for documentation but also clearly and succinctly depending on the audience
