Location: 6488 Binloop Dr., Orlando, FL 32835
Date: March 18
Description:
This Knight Shadow experience is a great fit for junior and senior engineering students (mechanical, electrical, computer, or related disciplines) who are curious about how products are built end-to-end, enjoy solving practical problems, and are interested in working at the intersection of technology, creativity, and real-world impact.
Alcorn McBride designs and manufactures the technology that powers immersive themed entertainment experiences around the world. If you’ve ever been in a theme park, museum, attraction, or branded experience where audio, video, lighting, controls, and storytelling all work together seamlessly—you’ve experienced the kind of systems we build.
During this Knight Shadow experience, students will get a behind-the-scenes look at how complex entertainment systems are conceived, designed, manufactured, tested, and deployed at scale. You’ll learn how multidisciplinary engineering teams collaborate across electrical, mechanical, embedded software, manufacturing, and systems engineering to deliver reliable, mission-critical products used in high-uptime, guest-facing environments.
Students will be exposed to:
How engineering decisions translate into real-world products and installations
The intersection of hardware, software, and manufacturing in a global supply chain
How project teams balance creativity, technical rigor, timelines, and cost
What careers look like across engineering, product development, manufacturing, operations, and business leadership within the themed entertainment industry
You’ll also gain perspective on how companies like Alcorn McBride work with major theme park operators, integrators, and creative studios—and what it takes to support products over long lifecycles in demanding environments.
Alcorn McBride regularly offers internships and early-career opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, and technical operations, and this experience is a great way to understand whether this industry—and our type of work—is a strong fit for you.
If you’re excited by hands-on engineering, collaborative teams, and seeing your work come to life in experiences enjoyed by millions of people, this will be a valuable—and very real—look at what that career path can offer.
