ESG Intern

Intern, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance)

Our ESG team plays a key role in integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance factors into our corporate strategy. We need a passionate and detail-oriented ESG Intern to support our initiatives and contribute to meaningful change. The ESG Intern will assist in research, data collection, reporting, and project implementation to enhance our ESG performance. This role is an excellent opportunity for students interested in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethical business practices.

The Environmental, Social & Governance Intern will:

  • Conduct research on ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Support data collection and analysis for ESG reporting and disclosures.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and sustainability communications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to track ESG initiatives and progress.
  • Monitor ESG-related policies, industry benchmarks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Participate in community engagement and corporate social responsibility projects.
  • Provide administrative support for ESG meetings, events, and campaigns.
  • Research topics currently pertinent to support of our team members.
  • Communicate with managers and leaders in the organization to support projects in development.

EDUCATION/AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Passion for sustainability and ESG-related topics
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools or sustainability platforms preferred (e.g., EcoVadis, CDP, IntegrityNext, SupplyShift)
  • Prior internship or coursework related to ESG or sustainability

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be a junior/senior level undergraduate in good standing pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.

  • 3.25 GPA level or higher
  • Available May 12, 2026 thru August 7, 2026
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, who proactively takes on new tasks
  • Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
  • Must have excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

This is a paid internship; interns will work in-office a minimum of 4 days per week at Altair’s Frisco headquarters. Depending on the department, there may be an opportunity to work at home on the fifth day.  Each workday will be eight hours total.

Office setting and/or home office work environment. Intern must be able to operate standard office equipment. Intern spends substantial amounts of time working on the computer, in meetings, and/or on the phone, often times under deadlines.
