Graduate Assistant - UREC - Wellness - Wellness and Health Promotion Support

Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant for Wellness will assist the Assistant Director of Wellness with the day-to-day responsibilities of the wellness coaching program for UARK Wellness. Responsibilities include supervision of Peer Wellness Coaches, including bi-weekly one-on-one supervision meetings; assisting with development and facilitation of Peer Wellness Coach training; and the management of wellness coaching requests, documentation, and data tracking. Additionally, the Wellness Graduate Assistant will lead the planning and promotion of monthly Wellness Lunch & Learns for UARK faculty, staff, and graduate students by recruiting speakers to present on relevant wellness topics, promoting Lunch & Learns to appropriate audiences, and managing administrative tasks related to the Wellness Lunch & Learns. 


Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. 


This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as Communication, Professionalism, Leadership and Critical Thinking.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average

Admission to a graduate degree program of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited institution of higher education, or currently completing a bachelor’s degree preferably in Public Health, Health Promotion, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Communications, or a related field of study

Certified health and wellness coach

Experience with health promotion/wellness programming, events and/or coaching

Previous leadership and/or supervision experience

Compensation & Benefits:

Wage Rate: $14,445

 

Hours and Schedule:

The position is designed to be a 20 hours per week in person commitment.

Weekly work hours vary and may include morning, evening, and weekend.

 

Employment Timeline:

This position hires on an as needed basis.

This position is eligible for up to 2 years of continuous employment upon satisfactory performance and continued academic enrollment.
