Corporate Development Analyst

OVERVIEW

Perpetual Capital Partners is seeking an Analyst to join its Corporate Development team. As a member of the Corporate Development team, you will evaluate M&A opportunities and work with our existing companies to drive growth and improve operations. In this role, you will work directly with the management teams of our operating companies on the evaluation and execution of strategic projects. Sample projects could include conducting build/partner/buy analysis, evaluating new business or product lines, executing on expansion projects, implementing new software systems or workflow processes, integrating strategic partnerships and add-on acquisitions. This position is an in-person role at the company’s headquarters in greater Washington, D.C.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on high-profile projects at both Perpetual Capital and at portfolio companies. 
  • Analyze financial statements and operating performance; support planning and budgeting. 
  • Build complex and robust financial models and other financial analysis in Excel. 
  • Research industries, trends, competitors, and potential acquisition targets. 
  • Work with senior management to identify and evaluate portfolio company growth plans and operations and assist with developing action plans based on findings. 
  • Evaluate and execute on M&A opportunities; analyze business valuations, support due diligence investigations and deal execution, and draft internal investment memos. 
  • Support the transition and integration of newly acquired platforms and add-on acquisitions. 
  • Work cross-functionally on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and perform other duties, as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic track record required. 
  • Coursework in business, economics, finance or accounting a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). 
  • Results-oriented and accountable, takes ownership of tasks and projects. 
  • Desire to take on new challenges and solve problems to overcome obstacles. 
  • Focus on quality of work and attention to detail.  Demonstrates sound judgment and professional maturity. 
  • Excellent verbal communications skills.  Proactive team player with positive "can do" attitude.
