Job Description

Job Title: PCL Finance Intern

Department: Finance / Plant Controlling

Reports to: Plant Controller / Finance Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Type: Hourly

Objective of the Position

Assists the Plant Controlling and Finance team by supporting financial reporting, analysis, and administrative tasks related to plant operations. Provides hands-on experience in manufacturing finance, cost controlling, and financial processes.

Essential Accountabilities: the position incumbent ensures, that

  • Provides administrative and analytical support to the Plant Controlling and Finance teams
  • Assists with data collection, validation, and reporting for plant financial performance
  • Supports month-end close activities, budgeting, and forecasting processes as assigned
  • Assists with tracking plant costs, variances, and key financial metrics
  • Updates financial reports, spreadsheets, and department data
  • Supports special finance or cost-controlling projects depending on length of internship
  • May assist with audits, documentation, and financial process improvements

Secondary Accountabilities: the position incumbent ensures, that

  • Conducts all business-related activities for, and on behalf of, Purem within applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements
  • Complies with all corporate finance, accounting, and internal control policies
  • Demonstrates accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail when handling financial information
  • Supports compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirement Profile

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically by car if required
  • Strong analytical mindset; detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
  • Ability to apply financial and accounting concepts learned in school to a professional manufacturing environment

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to apply mathematical and financial concepts, including calculations, percentages, and variance analysis
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare basic financial reports and documentation
  • Analytical skills to collect, organize, and interpret financial data
  • Basic understanding of accounting or controlling principles preferred

Methodical Competence:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and business needs
  • Attendance and punctuality in line with department expectations
  • Demonstrates dependability and accountability for assigned tasks
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while supporting finance and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal customers and management

  • Maintains professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive financial data

  • This position does not supervise other employees

Working Conditions

This position involves working primarily in an office environment with occasional exposure to a manufacturing plant setting.
