JOB POSTING:  ENGINEER - Intern

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

UTI is currently seeking qualified candidates for Engineer internships. The primary focus of the internship is to assist the engineering department in all facets of natural gas design and construction management, including pipeline, meter/regulator station, and compressor station projects. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The primary focus of this position is to assist the engineering department with all facets of natural gas system design. UTI engineers mainly focus on mechanical designs, but frequently deal with civil, electrical, and other disciplines. Our team is diverse - containing engineers with civil, mechanical, chemical, environmental, and petroleum backgrounds. Additionally, the position will assist other groups within UTI, such as land survey, construction management, integrity management, operations and maintenance, environmental, and GIS. The selected candidates will create and assist UTI's engineers with developing simple CAD drawings, compiling material takeoffs, reviewing plans, assisting land surveying crews in the field, writing basic reports, and performing population density surveys for pipelines, etc.

Moderate day travel (less than once a week) to job sites, client meetings, etc. should be expected. Overnight travel is infrequent (once or twice per term, if any).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil, mechanical, petroleum, chemical, energy or environmental scanning engineering degrees preferred.
  • Preference is engineering student in Sophmore, Junior, Senior year or in an engineering graduate program.
