Hyosung HICO’s Internship Program is designed for current college students looking to gain practical experience in Hyosung HICO’s operations, within their field of study. Interns will be exposed to specific projects within their assigned department, be able to gain hands on experience from professionals in their field of study. The internships period begins in mid-May to mid-August, and may be open or extended for winter break based on company needs.

The purpose of the internship program is to provide interns with “real work” experience and complete a special project or assignment that will be value added to the specific department. Hyosung HICO will also benefit from the internship program by furthering the image as a top employer for students.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of the business
  • May rotate through different departments to gain general knowledge and to provide ideas to grow and improve the business
  • Accepts designated, business focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship
  • May engage with internal and external customers to provide information
  • Provide suggestions to leadership for improving internal processes
  • Learns and/or becomes familiar in internal software
  • Develop and utilize effective technical and soft skills such as communication, problem solving and adaptability
  • Work under experienced professionals who provide guidance, feedback and clear learning objectives
  • Perform practical tasks on a daily basis with the focus of acquiring new skills, understanding the company operations and exploring a career path
  • Complete a project presentation at the end of the Internship Program
  • Time commitment is Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm from mid-May to mid-August
  • Paid Internship $18 hourly 
  • Know HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in any Engineering or Accounting discipline; 0-4 years’ experience in Engineering or Accounting related roles
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be energetic and eager to tackle new tasks and projects
  • Developed analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office Products and CAD

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:

  • Ability to use office equipment, such as: PC, photocopier, fax machine, etc.
  • Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings and material
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and sometimes work as a team to complete work
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment
