What Makes This Role Special
Are you a numbers person who loves keeping everything organized and running smoothly? Orlando Longwood Auto Auction is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to be the backbone of our finance team! You'll be the vital link supporting our Controller, managing accounts payable, reconciling statements, and ensuring every financial detail is handled with precision. Your Day-to-Day Adventures
- Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments with accuracy and efficiency
- Enter financial transactions into our accounting system and maintain organized records
- Perform monthly credit card and charge account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Manage daily cash transactions, deposits, and maintain accurate cash receipts records
- Prepare and submit IRS Form 8300 reports and maintain documentation for regulatory requirements
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, prepare journal entries, and support financial reporting
- Gather documentation and provide support during internal and external audits
- Provide administrative support to our Controller and cross-train with our Staff Accountant
- Participate in initiatives to make our accounting operations even better
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
What We're Looking For (The Must-Haves)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience (accounts payable and reconciliations are a must!)
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy – you catch what others miss!
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Prior experience in automotive dealerships or auctions is a huge plus!
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with flexibility during month-end close and audit periods
- Authorized to legally work in the United States
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening

- Schedule: Monday - Friday, normal business hours (overtime may be required during month-end close)

- Environment: Professional office setting within our busy auction facility
- Style: Full-time, Temp to Permanent or Permanent position where you can really build something
