Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant – Competitive Salary – Farmington Hills, MI
The Role
Wood, Kull, Herschfus, Obee & Kull, P.C. is hiring a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a busy civil litigation practice with a strong mix of business disputes, real estate/landlord-tenant matters, employment-related issues, and probate.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, tech-comfortable, and personable—the kind of person who keeps case files and deadlines under control and communicates well with clients. No experience is required; we will train the right person.
What You’ll Do (training provided)
Keep cases organized: maintain digital and physical files, document naming conventions, and easy-to-follow case systems
Own the calendar: track deadlines, hearings, depositions, and tasks; follow up to keep matters moving
Draft and prepare documents: letters, pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, and discovery materials (with attorney direction)
E-file and manage service: prepare filings, e-file in Michigan courts, and track service requirements
Discovery support: collect and organize documents, Bates label, maintain discovery/pleading indexes, and track requests and responses
Client communication: answer calls/emails professionally, keep clients updated on next steps, and make sure messages are returned promptly
Hearing/trial prep support: organize exhibits, witness materials, hearing binders, timelines, and supporting documents

Must-haves
Organization and follow-through: you can juggle multiple matters without dropping deadlines
Strong computer skills: Outlook, Word, PDFs/Adobe, scanning, saving, and clean document organization
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Client-ready communication: polite, calm, professional, and comfortable speaking with clients directly
Good habits that keep clients informed: timely call-backs, clear written updates, and flagging issues for attorneys
Experience
No experience required — we will train the right person.
Office/admin/customer-service experience is a plus, but not required.
Education
Paralegal certificate/degree helpful, but not required.
