Student IT Support Technician

Job Summary: The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Student IT Support Technician to contribute to the efficient daily operations of our technical facilities. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in IT support within an academic engineering environment, fostering skill development in areas crucial for future professional endeavors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students, faculty, & staff with IT requirements
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair IT systems
- Implement upgrades of hardware, software and systems
- Gather data for reports and inventory
- Assist with diagnosis/resolution of issues related to IT
- Monitor and maintain inventory of materials and supplies
- Work on maintenance request repair needs, inventory, etc for Engineering IT systems in academic, laboratory, and research computing facilities
Qualifications:
- Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Experience with computer hardware is desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- Excellent attention to detail is required.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Direct Supervisor: Brian Allen
Work Schedule: The students in this position are expected to work 15-20 hours per week and be available to work on Fridays.
Employee Evaluation Process:

2. Initial Interviews: Schedule interviews continuously as applications come in.
3. Final Decision: Final decision by Sept . 12.

Pay Rate Determination: The starting hourly pay for this position is $9, determined by the candidate's relevant skills and experience with computer equipment. The potential for future increases exists, contingent upon demonstrated experience and performance within the role.
