About Source 21
Founded in 1992, Source 21 partners with manufacturers that depend on stable, long-term supply relationships and consistent execution over time. Operating nationally, the company combines deep materials expertise, disciplined operations, and modern systems to support customers whose businesses require reliability, continuity, and follow-through year after year.
Source 21’s operating platform is intentionally designed to serve manufacturers operating in complex, high-requirement environments, including medical manufacturing, aerospace and defense, energy distribution and transmission, industrial OEM manufacturing, and advanced manufacturing applications. The company continues to expand its footprint alongside long-term customer programs and supply-chain partnerships.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented early-career professional to support the President of a fast-growing company operating in a mature, industrial sector. This is an entry-level role with meaningful responsibility and direct exposure to executive decision-making, financial operations, and day-to-day business execution.
This role is designed for someone who wants to build a broad foundation in how a business actually operates. Early responsibilities are execution- and admin-heavy, but the scope is expected to expand meaningfully over time based on performance, judgment, and initiative.
This position operates within a highly structured business that relies on disciplined processes and controls — including ISO-driven quality systems, rigorous accounting practices, inventory controls, and defined operational workflows. At the same time, the pace of the business requires someone who can manage and prioritize across many moving parts without constant direction.
This role is not about waiting for tasks to be assigned. Initiative and follow-through have immediate, visible impact. Likewise, a lack of execution is quickly apparent — this is a role with high exposure and high accountability.
Due to the pace and breadth of responsibilities, training will not always be formal or sequential. Success requires the ability to seek information, connect dots, and move work forward independently. Progress happens by taking ownership, not by waiting for complete instruction.
Candidates who require step-by-step training, constant direction, or narrowly defined responsibilities will not be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & President Support
- Own execution support for the President, including meeting preparation, follow-ups, and action-item tracking
- Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and summaries to ensure meetings translate into decisions and execution
- Track commitments and priorities coming out of leadership discussions and ensure follow-through across the organization
- Coordinate scheduling and preparation for internal leadership meetings, customer interactions, and vendor calls
- Maintain organization and continuity across executive priorities, communications, and ongoing initiatives
Business Operations & Finance Support
- Support core business functions across finance, operations, and leadership initiatives
- Assist with accounting-related activities, including invoice processing, documentation, and coordination with external accounting partners
- Support basic financial and operational reporting, tracking, and internal controls
- Review and reconcile inventory data in coordination with operations to ensure system accuracy
- Assist with cross-functional workflow coordination and process execution
Commercial, HR & Projects
- Support sales activity through quote preparation, follow-ups, and internal coordination
- Assist with customer communications and CRM/order-related administration
- Support HR and people-operations tasks, including onboarding coordination and internal documentation
- Manage special projects and ad-hoc initiatives as needed
- Proactively identify inefficiencies, risks, or bottlenecks and move solutions forward with real impact on execution, financial accuracy, and customer experience
Work Environment & Location
This is a primarily on-site role and requires daily presence in the office. Occasional flexibility may exist over time, but in-person work is the standard. This role is not a fit for candidates seeking a remote or hybrid-first position.
Travel will be limited initially but is expected to increase as responsibilities expand. Long-term, this role may involve travel to vendor sites and potentially customer locations.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a high-potential, early-career professional with strong fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to execute. This role is best suited for someone motivated by responsibility, visibility, and long-term growth rather than narrowly defined job boundaries.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or a related field
- Will consider related degrees, adjacent fields, or relevant professional experience
- 0–3 years of professional experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn independently and make progress without constant oversight
Highly Valued:
- Interest or foundational skills in finance and accounting
- Exposure to accounting, financial reporting, inventory control, or operational analysis
- Experience in manufacturing, metals, industrial distribution, or supply-chain environments
This role is not a fit for candidates seeking rigid structure, narrowly scoped tasks, or low-accountability environments.
Why This Role Is Different
This role sits at the intersection of disciplined systems and fast-moving execution, offering uncommon visibility into how decisions, processes, and follow-through directly affect business outcomes.
For those who take initiative and ownership, the opportunity for growth and expanded responsibility is significant.
