Hospitality & Events Internship – Level I or II at Lavender Hill Farm

Do you have a passion for events, guest experiences, and making special moments unforgettable? Lavender Hill Farm is seeking a Hospitality Intern to assist with event planning, guest services, and tour operations. Interns in this position will gain hands-on experience in hospitality and venue management, working directly with weddings, concerts, private events, and farm tours. 

Note: This flexible internship can be structured as a graduation requirement, post-graduate experience, or seasonal role, with resume-enhancing opportunities available.

Lavender Hill Farm is a premier agritourism destination in Northern Michigan, known for its 13,000 plants, guided tours, concert series, events and our farmhouse boutique. Our Certified Naturally Grown farm offers a hands-on, collaborative work environment where team members across all departments work closely with leadership, making a real impact on daily operations and guest experiences, while surrounded by fields of lavender.

What You’ll Do 

As a Hospitality & Events Intern, you will: 

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, vendors, and performers. 
• Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of private events, weddings, and farm activities. 
• Ensure smooth operation of concerts, weddings, and special events. 
• Coordinate event setup and teardown, including tables, chairs, sound, and lighting. 
• Collaborate with vendors, artists, and clients to maintain event timelines and enhance guest experiences. 
• Facilitate large group visits and assist with visitor engagement. 
• Support hospitality-related office tasks to ensure smooth operations. 
• Work closely with the Marketing Team and performers to create and promote event-related content. 
• Provide guided golf cart tours of the farm, assist at the Ambassador Stand and engage with visitors.
• Jump in where needed to support farm operations and guest experiences. 

What We’re Looking For 

• A student or recent graduate in Hospitality, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field. 
• Excellent communication and leadership skills—you’re confident in engaging with guests! 
• Exceptional organization and multitasking abilities. 
• Ability to problem-solve and stay calm under pressure. 
• Comfortable with technology, including ticketing systems and Microsoft Office. 
• Physically capable of lifting and moving event materials up to 40 pounds.
• Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic. 
• Previous experience in hospitality, event planning, or customer service is a plus 
• Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Internship Details 

• Location: Lavender Hill Farm, Boyne City, MI 
• Duration:May through mid-August (potential extension through October)
• Schedule: Full-time, including concert evenings and weekends 
• Compensation: Paid internship with limited housing available 
• Ideal for: Students and/or recent graduates in Hospitality, Tourism, Communications, or related fields
