What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a revenue-minded partnerships operator who can build external relationships, turn programs into real collaborations, and help generate revenue. This is not a “writing-only” role. You should enjoy outreach, negotiation, follow-through, and closing.
You do not need a formal arts background, but you must be able to represent a serious cultural brand and be genuinely interested in contemporary art and culture.
The Role
You will work directly with the founder to drive ELSEHERE’s external growth across B2B partnerships and program monetization. Core responsibilities include:
1) Partnership Development and Outreach
- Identify, research, and build a target list of partners (institutions, universities, studios, platforms, brands, foundations, communities)
- Initiate outreach via email/DM/intro requests and book calls
- Maintain a clear pipeline: lead → discovery → proposal → negotiation → close
- Build relationships across US–China networks and manage cross-cultural communication
2) Monetization for Existing Programs
You will help bring revenue to ELSEHERE’s current and near-term programs, including:
- open calls (distribution, partner cross-posting, paid submission strategy when appropriate)
- clinics / sessions / workshops (sourcing audiences, partners, and conversion pathways)
- collaborations with institutions or brands (sponsorship, commissioned programming, co-produced events)
Your focus is to connect the right offer to the right audience or partner and move it toward a paid outcome.
3) Deal Structuring and Proposals
- Draft and iterate simple, clear partnership proposals and pricing options
- Help define deal models: sponsor packages, partner bundles, revenue share, commission structure, co-production terms
- Coordinate next steps after agreements: deliverables, timelines, partner comms, follow-ups
4) Execution Support for Closed Partnerships
- Ensure collaborations actually launch: scheduling, communications, asset handoffs, reporting
- Track results and document outcomes for case studies and credibility building
Ideal Background
We’re especially interested in people who have done some of the following:
- Business development, partnerships, sponsorship outreach, sales, account management, community growth, or startup ops
- Successfully closed at least one collaboration (brand partnership, campus partnership, event partnership, sponsorship, paid client, etc.)
- Comfortable with outreach and follow-up at volume (without losing quality and tone)
- Strong organization: pipelines, CRM, structured notes, clear next steps
- Bonus: experience working across US–China contexts, bilingual communication, cultural sector familiarity
Compensation and Support
This role is unpaid at the current stage, with performance-based upside:

Deal-based commission / revenue share for partnerships and paid programs you help land (structured per project)
- Portfolio-quality experience with an international platform in its founding stage
