K-8 Music Teacher
Rock Valley Christian School is seeking a K–8 Music Teacher who is passionate about helping students discover and develop their musical gifts as part of a Christ-centered education.
This position includes K–8 General Music instruction and leadership of 5th–8th Grade Band. The ideal candidate brings strong musicianship, classroom leadership, and a desire to nurture both skill and joy in music.
- Essential Skills & Responsibilities
- Teach General Music for Kindergarten through 8th grade
- Direct and develop a 5th–8th grade band program
- Build age-appropriate lessons that foster musical literacy, creativity, and performance skills
- Cultivate a positive, engaging classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
- Integrate faith and learning in a way that supports Rock Valley Christian’s mission
- Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents
- Plan and lead concerts and competitions
Qualifications
- Training or experience in music education (degree preferred)
- Proficiency in instrumental music and band instruction
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to Christian education
