PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN

 

For over 60 years, IQAir has been a leader in improving indoor air quality in residential, commercial and institutional markets. For our North American headquarters, located in La Mirada, California, we have an immediate opening for a Public Relations Intern.

 

Summary

 

The Public Relations intern will work closely with the Public Relations Lead towards enhancing our company's online presence and building and maintaining positive relationships with our stakeholders. This position’s primary responsibility will be to support various communication initiatives and leverage social media platforms to engage our audience. This is a fulltime, hybrid role.

Responsibilities

 

  • Under the direction of the Public Relations Lead, create and curate engaging content for our company’s social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, TikTok) 
  • Collaborate with the PR team to create compelling, on-brand visual and written content for various platforms 
  • Assist in the management of content across social media platforms
  • Monitor social media trends and engage with followers to foster meaningful interactions 
  • Provide assistance in scheduling and coordinating events
  • Schedule and analyze posts to optimize engagement and reach 
  • Track and report on media coverage related to our industry and company 
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and influencers 
  • Compile data and prepare reports to measure the impact of PR and social media efforts 
  • Assist with building and updating media lists
  • Conduct research on air quality related topics
  • Other projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism
  • Communications and social media experience 
  • Media relations experience desired
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, Canva, HootSuite, Meltwater 
  • Able to pass pre-employment background and drug screening

         

 

Other Requirements

May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities both in and outside the company to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.

At IQAir, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base pay range for this position is between $23.00 and $25.00 per hour and most new hires start at $23.00.  Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience.
