Harvard Athletics Multimedia Intern

The Harvard University Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a 10-month internship in Athletics Multimedia, spanning from July of 2026 to May of 2027. The intern will report directly to the Multimedia Department and assist with coverage of the university's 42-sport varsity athletics program.

 

Harvard Athletics offers 42 varsity programs for men and women, more than any other Division I school in the United States. The college was the first to create an athletic association, as well as a committee to regulate campus sports. The primary standard has been success against its seven peer institutions in the Ivy League, where Crimson squads have won more than 400 titles since 1956. Harvard also has had notable achievements at the national level, collecting more than 140 team championships in sports ranging from ice hockey to lacrosse to fencing to crew. The Olympics, the planet's biggest sporting stage, has featured Harvard competitors ever since triple jumper James Connolly won the first gold medal at the inaugural 1896 event in Athens. The 2024 Summer Games in Paris had Crimson connections including Canadian hockey stars, Uzbek wrestlers, Haitian triple jumpers, Australian rowers, Nigerian shot putters and Philippine swimmers, to name a few.

 

  • Position Description:

 

  • The intern will work as part of the game-day video production team, operating technical equipment to produce and broadcast athletic events on ESPN+ as well as in venue video board shows.

 

  • The intern will eventually take on the role of Director/Producer at games, with responsibility over all video and audio elements of production, and a game-day leadership role over 10-15 game-day video production assistants.

 

  • The intern will also work on post-production video editing projects, creating original content for the social media, GoCrimson.com website, video board shows, and broadcasts.

 

  • The intern will gain hands-on experience in game-day productions, broadcast engineering, and non-linear video editing.

 

  • Qualifications and Required Skills:
    • Must be able to receive academic credit for the internship

 

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills are required.
  • Applicants should have a background in broadcast production and/or video editing
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is preferred.

 

  • Academic Credit:
    • This internship is designed to be completed for academic credit. Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university and be eligible to receive academic credit for their participation in the internship.
    • Proof of eligibility for academic credit (e.g., a letter from your academic advisor or registrar) is required prior to the start of the internship.

 

  • Work Format:
    • Internship, Full-time

 

  • Wage: $15.00 per hour

 

  • Schedule:

 

  • This internship runs from July 2026 – May 2027. Evening and weekend work will be required. Your schedule may vary to accommodate evening and weekend work. 
  • The intern is expected to commit to approx. 40 hours/week throughout the duration of the 10-month internship, with overtime pay available.

 

  • Location:
    • Boston, MA. Ability to commute or relocate for in-person work is required.
