Aquatic Biologist
We are looking to hire multiple student services contractors to help the Quantitative Ecology Section of the Columbia Environmental Science Center with laboratory and field studies on monitoring and control methods for invasive crayfish and carp. Initial, primary service provided by the student/recent graduate is to help develop, run, modify, analyze, model, and document monitoring and control efforts for invasive crayfish populations. As additional funding becomes available, the recent graduate will help with efforts associated with other invasive and non-invasive aquatic species, including fish. The person in the position will help to develop, conduct, and document biological, behavioral, toxicological, ecological, pathological, public use data, or other information pertinent to research studies and/or field or laboratory investigations. In addition, the recent graduate shall be expected to assist in animal maintenance, laboratory and field studies, literature search, document editing, preparation data summaries and reports, and model development. Overnight travel to collaborator and field sites and/or stationed at a remote work location to allow for continuous access to treatment site locations will be required.
