IT Intern

Job Title: IT Intern 

Pay: $20 an hour

Internship Duration: 5/13/2026 - 8/14/2026

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Systems Administrator you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software for end-users. This role involves installing, configuring, and upgrading desktops, laptops, and peripherals, as well as providing technical support to resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity. Ensure systems run efficiently, perform routine maintenance, and apply security updates.

 Responsibility 

  • Complete assignments from the Service Desk efficiently and effectively within assigned priority to meet SLA.
  • Troubleshoot and solve office desktop problems.
  • Prepare regular and special reports and analyze within prescribed guidelines.
  • Ensure licensed software is used in facility and the information is maintained in the licensing database.
  • Assist in the setup and install all network attached equipment at facility.
  • Maintain software and hardware on desktops at facility including Office Automation software, Anti-Virus, PC management software as per Desktop Setup Checklist.
  • Basic understanding of network hardware, desktop hardware and multi-functional devices
  • Ability to evaluate information technology needs and users' software needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Academic/Educational Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in Information Technology program, Computer Science or Software program.

 

Required Skills/Experience 

  • Experience with some or all the following: 
    • A Windows server 2019/2022/2025 networking environment 
    • Windows 11 operating system
    • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC operating system
  • Experience with Active Directory and SCCM (Microsoft Configuration Manager) is an asset
  • Basic understanding of networking, including ethernet cable termination to 568A & 568B standards.
  • Experience with setup and support of Microsoft Office 365, Network Printers and Smartphones (IOS, Android).
