The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Position Summary

The Quality Continuous Improvement (CI) Intern will support quality and continuous improvement initiatives under the direction of the Quality Manager. This role offers hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, quality systems, and data tracking while contributing to meaningful improvement efforts across the division.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the employee suggestion program, including tracking and reporting associated monthly data.
  • Provide support in maintaining and improving the division’s 5S program.
  • Monitor training requirements and assist in providing resources to meet requirements defined in the MAFACT system.
  • Facilitate and support Kaizen events, including development of action plans and ensuring timely and effective event closure.
  • Support internal and external audits led by the Quality department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience or exposure to lean manufacturing principles, 5S, continuous improvement projects, and/or capacity planning.
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems or manufacturing quality concepts preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Adaptable and comfortable learning new software systems and tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
