Gallery Assistant - Summer and/or Fall 2026 - Work Study or Regular Pay
Position Summary
The General Gallery Assistant at Roberta’s Art Gallery often serves as the first point of UC contact, representing the Gallery and UC. Responsibilities include greeting guests, promoting events, assisting with receptions, installations, takedowns, and collaborating with artists. This vital role supports daily gallery operations and reports to gallery leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry artwork of various sizes for installation/takedown
- Ability to climb a ladder to access the storage and lighting system (desirable)
- Customer service experience, ability to work with others
Tasks
All UC Employees:

- Participate and complete onboarding, UC-wide Orientation, and training.
Position Specific:
- Greets and informs guests about exhibits, researches current exhibits and artists, and provides excellent service aligned with the UC values.
- Assists with setup and takedown of exhibits and receptions, handles artwork professionally, and supports logistics for artist receptions and special events.
- Promotes gallery programs through personal invitations, posters, signage, and social media in collaboration with UC Marketing & Creative Strategies and other departments.
- Attends monthly staff meetings and required training, demonstrates time management, completes tasks efficiently, and practices effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintains clean, organized gallery spaces, assists with updating gallery documents, inventory, and procedures, and helps to manage supplies and checkouts.
- Partners with UC and Gallery team members, campus departments, student organizations, community partners and artists to promote the arts and support creative programming.
